I have rebooted the computer and modem many times and have uninstalled and reinstalled all drivers and utilities. I then installed the tp-link configuration utility but this did not pick up the 5ghz or connect to the 2.4ghz properly either. I put the latest drivers on a flash drive and installed them in case that was the problem but I was still only picking up the 2.4ghz band and I was still unable to connect to it properly. I was unable to ping or access the default gateway on this connection. But I have downloaded latest drivers from tp-link and found the Windows 8.1 drivers will work in Windows 10. Control Panel - Network - write down make and model of Wifi - double click. My experience is that it works for a while and then crashes.
