![]() Grumpy Dwarf coach - Give sinsights on playcallingĪngry Ork Blitzer - Wants more hitting and mocks dodging team. High Elf Catcher (retired)(Haughty, bored, quite good at his job when he feels like it) ![]() I will *happily* take suggestions! The rough first draft looks like so:Ĭo-Host - Chip Throwdown – Human Thrower (retired) A host, a co-host, several ex-players and experts to weigh in, a tally of the league's leading throwers, scorers, casualty-causers (needs a name!) and killers, plus bits and bobs form the players … brag about your team, boast about beating someone, threaten to get revenge on a team that beat you, etc.Ĭurrently trying to get good names for a few of the crew. It start sin a week or two, and uses the new Season Two rules, with a few tweaks (mercenary players are so much bette rthan the standard book rules!) … and, being a mad lad, I've decide dto A) play a bad team (High Elves, who are just awful in the current ruleset) and I want to run a weekly newsletter, done up as an in-world sportscast akin to This Week in the NFL or the like. Don't go for it or take any chances unless you must and even 1 die blocks are relatively safe for dwarfs.I've wound up falling into a Blood Bowl league at one of the local game stores. Outside of that, just hope the dice work for you. Orc coaches tend to throw fits once their greenskins start to get bottled up. Once the orcs try to move (possibly using a cage?), stuff it up with your stand-firm guys. Your runner with Block & Dodge should be an excellent strong saftey type, playing deep and reacting to any deep threats. The orc blitzer with the 4 Agility gives them a legitimate throwing threat, but enough tackle zones can fix that. This way you can move to react to his formation. ![]() You'll give up some ground in the beginning, but you can close the gaps by allowing the orcs to come to you. Keep all of your other guys back a few spaces so that he can only blitz one of them. I personally don't foul unless fouled upon (Dwarven Honor), but if you can get his top guys down and use your dirty player, well, that's pretty obvious there.įor defense, 3 men on the line (Typically low or no SPP guys), and back them up in the center with a stand firm or guard guy right behind them. Maybe you can score through his armor quickly. My only other advice is that on offense, stack your line to ensure two-dice blocks on his best guys leading the blocks with your guys with Mighty Blow. If you can stack two orcs by initial blocks from your linemen and have his men bunched up, you can essentially push 2 orcs out of bounds with one slayer. The "Choo-Choo Train" version of this works great in a mass melee, especially if you have guys with guard. You must make sure to blitz or block the unwitting orc straight on and as you get a push back result, you can follow up and frenzy-block again, straight back, gaining the assist and thus forcing the orc off the pitch. The way to do this is IF your opponent has ANY of his orcs one space away from the sideline, move your longbeard so that his tacklezone covers by being one space in as well (2nd square in for both orc and dwarf). So, a classic tactic is to set up the longbeards first so that they can assist on the second block of the frenzy. I'm sure by now you've played enough games to learn the value of frenzy. (4 in a row by the way.or was it 5?).Īnyway, If you are looking to clear orcs off the field, then set him up on the wide zones using your slayers and longbeards. We play in a small league, but I've battled the orc team about 6 times in the season, lost once, tied once and crushed him utterly 4 times. All of your players still have more skills than him. ![]() While your opponent has some strengths, I belive your team still has the upper hand. It's hard hitting and the high armor makes for a very fun game. Dwarfs.the best and most classic battle, I feel, of any blood bowl game. Winner of Soup Bowls I, II, III (Chaos Dwarves) IV, V (Dwarves) XIII (Orcs) XIV (Dark Elves) & XVII (Chaos).įorget the Yankees, forget the Habs: THAT'S a Dynasty!!!įirst I have to say that I really like your team name.I too play a dwarf team also, based off of the Pittsuburgh Steelers. But what else? Any favourite targets amongst his roster? The point is to force him to put as much lineorcs as possible, I think, so I will profusely foul the crap out of him if I don't get lucky on armour rolls. We play in the last game of the season and frankly, I think I,ll meet him in the finals. I got a pretty good team, but I have problems against an orc team in my league and I am looking for some tips or strategies to use against him.
